| Kaikoura Whale Watch Experience
Our tour to the Whale Grounds of Kaikoura features not only an array of stunning scenery but also the opportunity to experience the thrill of viewing up close the Whales this area is renowned for. Giant Sperm Whales are the stars of the show and year-round residents. A typical Whale Watch tour may encounter New Zealand Fur Seals, pods of Dusky dolphins and the endangered Wandering Albatross. Depending on the season you may also see migrating Humpback Whales, Pilot Whales, Blue Whales and Southern Right Whales. Kaikoura often hosts the world's largest dolphin - the Orca - and is home to the world's smallest and rarest - the Hectors Dolphin.
The helicopter transfers to and from Kaikoura take in stunning views of our capital city, the Cook Strait, the Marlborough Sounds and the rugged Kaikoura
Coastline.
The Whale watching portion of this tour is normally conducted by boat, HELiPRO is pleased to offer a complimentary upgrade to view the Whales by helicopter - please note this tour is conducted by an operator specialising in Whale Watching and a helicopter change at Kaikoura would be required. Change of aircraft type on arrival is also likely due to the different nature of their operation.

Marlborough Sounds Dolphin Swim Experience
Join us to cross the Cook Strait on track to the South Island's magnificent Marlborough Sounds. Here you will join the team from Dolphin Watch Eco Tours to swim with the dolphins in Queen Charlotte sound. This crew really knows the local area and the sea life that abounds. Although nothing in nature is ever guaranteed, these guys have a 90% success rate of seeing and an 80% success rate of swimming with these wonderful sea creatures.

Take lunch in the serene surroundings of a leading New Zealand winery then you will travel by road and visit the filming locations for Rivendell where Frodo recovered from his knife attack; the Anduin River where Aragorn was washed ashore after the attack of the Wargs; the Gardens of Isengard, the site of the Orcs Felling the Trees and where Gandalf rode to see Saruman; go to the Mount Victoria lookout and Hobbiton Woods where you can race to the Ferry and get off the Road; Buckland Forest where the Hobbits hid from the Nazgul/Black Riders and where they found the mushrooms on the Road; Dunharrow Rohirrim encampment; visit the quarry for the filming of Helms Deep the fortified ravine in Rohan and Minas Tirith; the location of Bree.
End the day in the district of Miramar. Miramar is production central and the home of Peter Jackson and many of the cast and crew.
